Soft Innovation Resources: Enabler for reversal in GDP Growth in the Digital Economy

2018

While Finland and Singapore have been maintaining world digital leaders position, they demonstrate interlaced contrast: high welfare with low GDP growth in Finland and higher GDP growth with lower welfare in Singapore. This provokes an uncaptured GDP postulate that Finnish wellbeing has developed more than one might conclude by GDP. However, a recent reversal in the GDP growth trend suggests the possibility that uncaptured GDP contributes to remove structural impediments in GDP growth. This paper demonstrates this hypothesis. An empirical analysis elucidating the inside the national accountings and institutional systems revealed that soft innovation resources have substituted for service cap…

THE ROLE OF GOVERNMENT IN ROMANIA’S PARTICIPATION IN DIGITAL ECONOMY

2012

To participate in the digital economy, for a nation, it is imperative the need to adopt ICT, but not only at companies and individuals levels but also on the entire society. The national ICT adoption is significant especially in sustainable economic development of Romania. The degree to which Romania join the digital economy is influenced by measures and policies adopted by the government. The Government should facilitate, motivate and support the adoption of ICT at all three levels: individual, entrepreneurial and governmental. A nation cannot benefit from participation in digital economy when the government vision on the use of modern technology is not sufficiently developed. If Romania w…

In Revision: Theoretical Frameworks

2018

A central ambition in the first section is to establish an understanding of the music industries—the field of study—as well as change—the different dynamics within and around the music industries. I consider the latter understanding to be dependent on the former—that if we don’t have a proper concept of the field of study, then it becomes difficult to define and assess the changes happening to it. The music industries have indeed been impacted by digital change and innovation. It has become a reference point for the difficulties some industries have faced, adapting to a new digital economy. However, many of the accounts on the music industries’ difficult digital transitions tend to diminish…

Institutional Entrepreneurship, Trust and Regulatory Capture in the Digital Economy

2019

In regard to the problem of the new markets’ opening and their regulation, some scholars have introduced the concept of “institutional entrepreneur” in economic literature. This new definition of entrepreneur is important to highlight, albeit in informal and descriptive terms, the existence of functional relationships between activities typical of private market competition and those more specifically, of the public sector. Even if this new economic character can provide an interesting key to understanding what can really happen in the narrow zone that separates the public and private markets, it does not consider some conceptual components that are not minor for the purposes of complete ch…

L’excursus evolutivo fra l’OCSE e l’Unione Europea

2023

A SOLUTION TO THE DILEMMA BETWEEN R&D EXPANSION AND THE PRODUCTIVITY DECLINE: LESSONS FROM THE R&D MODELS IN AMAZON AND FINLAND

2019

As a consequence of the two-faced nature of information and communication technology (ICT), a majority of ICT leaders have been confronting the critical problem of a dilemma between R&D expansion and productivity decline in the digital economy. However, Amazon has been able to accomplish a skyrocketing increase in R&D and market capitalization. Finland has also accomplished balanced advancement not only of welfare but also economic resurgence. This paper attempted to elucidate the miracle of two ICT leaders. By means of a comparative empirical analysis of respective development trajectories, the sources of their success were analyzed thereby the comparative advantage and disadvantag…

Co-Evolutionary Coupling via a Digital-bio Ecosystem – A Suggestion for a New R&D Model in the Digital Economy

2019

A solution to the critical problem of a dilemma between R&D expansion and productivity decline that a majority of information and communication technology (ICT) leaders have been confronting in the digital economy is expected. It can be expected by a spinoff from economic functionality-seeking GDP-based coevolution cycle to supra-functionality beyond an economic value-seeking uncaptured GDP-driven coevolution cycle. However, the transformation dynamism remains a black box. By means of numerical simulations based on empirical analyses of the development trajectories of global ICT leaders, focusing on Amazon and Finland, together with an intensive review of preceding analyses, this paper atte…

From Marketing Mix to e-Marketing Mix: a literature overview and classification

2009

The marketing mix paradigm, in its famous version of the 4Ps, went all the way through the evolution of marketing theory: from the marketing concept, through relationship marketing, to digital economy, being object of discussion both in academic literature and managerial practice. If it is a fact that the 4Ps marketing mix is a milestone of marketing theory, it is also true that the evolution of business contexts has created, in many fields, the need to review the "controllable factors" which form the marketing mix. The digital business represents the more recent of the business contexts and the one with the greater needs of differentiation of the mix. Throughout this evolutionary process, …
